Technical Writer

An Aircraft Manufacturer and AMO in Pretoria is looking for an experienced Technical Writer to join their team. The Technical Writer will be responsible to liaise with Project Engineers, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and Pilots to ensure that project technical documentation is complete and accurate.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Consult with the AMO engineers to produce aircraft maintenance work packs
• Show the Technical Illustrator the project illustration needs
• Produce the text and graphic content for the following technical document types (minimum):
• Flight Manual
• Description and Training Manuals
• Aircraft Maintenance Manuals
• Aircraft Maintenance Schedules
• Illustrated parts Catalogue (IPC)
• Wiring Diagram Manuals
• Ground Support and Test Equipment User Manuals
• Alert Service Bulletins / Service Bulletins / Service Letters
• Verify the detailed procedures by carrying out physical checks on the aircraft or equipment with the assistance of Project Engineers, Field Service Engineers and Technicians
• Review the documentation drafts with subject matter experts and the client to make sure the technical
  documentation is complete and accurate

Qualifications and Experience

• At least a minimum of National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
• Technical author / report writing skills
• 2 – 4 years’ experience in Technical Manual production
• Good Aircraft systems knowledge is essential
• Teamcenter knowledge (advantageous)
• CorelDraw knowledge (advantageous)
