Aircraft Maintenance Planner

An Aircraft Maintenance Organisation in Cape Town is looking to employ an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Planner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of safe and secure aircraft maintenance planning at the AMO
  • Prepare work packs for scheduled maintenance to be carried out
  • Airworthiness Directives (AD) monitoring and tracking for all products serviced by this AMO, issued by the State of Manufacturer, State of Registry and / or Manufacturer
  • Service Bulletin (SB) monitoring and tracking for all products serviced by this AMO, issued by the OEM
  • Service Letter (SL) or any other such correspondence, monitoring and tracking for all products serviced
    by this AMO, issued by the OEM
  • Ensure that any equipment, parts, spares or the like that have “life limited” values are monitored and tracked for all products serviced by this AMO in the form of a status report
  • Prepare and present to the customer quotation for scheduled maintenance work to be undertaken
  • Liaison with customer to ensure payment of deposit
  • Liaison between stores and planning for the ordering of spares on acceptance of quotation
  • Prepare and present to the customer quotation for defects found during scheduled maintenance
  • Prepare work packs for defects, snags or unscheduled maintenance
  • Liaison with customer to ensure payment of top-up deposit for any additional of maintenance or deposit required for rectification of unscheduled maintenance or snags
  • Prepare, track, capture and store records of aircraft maintenance
  • Update all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance into aircraft logbooks and electronic management system within 48 hours of completion of maintenance activities
  • Give updated reports on aircraft serviceability status to Chief Engineer and customer representatives
  • Give daily progress reports to customers on the progress of maintenance activities
  • On arrival at the AMO, the maintenance planner is to meet and greet the customer representative and the Aircraft Handover Inspection Sheet is to be completed by the Maintenance Planner in the company of the
    customer representative
  • On departure from the AMO, the maintenance planner is to meet and greet the customer representative
    and the Aircraft Handover Inspection Sheet is to be completed by the Maintenance Planner in the
    company of the customer representative, prior to the aircraft departing
  • Arrange and co-ordinate all “Test Flights” and all “Post Maintenance Acceptance Flights” with a suitably qualified and rated “Test Pilot” utilised for such purposes by this organisation
  • Ensure that processes are being adhered to by the AMO staff in line with the customers Maintenance Control Manual / Aircraft Maintenance Program etc.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the currency and latest revision status of all airworthiness data
  • Quality Control of maintenance activity records and recommend appropriate corrective actions
  • Carry out quality control inspections on all work packs for consistency, completeness and compliance
  • Prepare and present to customer final invoice and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Ensure all AME records are kept up to date

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Previous experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Planner or a similar role within aviation is required (such as technical librarian/record keeper)
  • Good computer skills

Benefits

  • Basic salary of R15 000 to R20 000 per month gross
  • The company will not cover any relocation costs
