Junior Test Pilot
An aircraft manufacturer and maintenance organisation in Johannesburg are looking for a Junior Test Pilot to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Test flying of new aircraft and aircraft after maintenance
- Completion of the required documents relating to test flying
- Identify snags in flight and ensure they are resolved prior to further testing
- Must keep and maintain the appropriate class and the ratings, ensure validity of license and medical is maintained on a regular basis
Requirements
- 500 hours min total time
- Class II Test Pilot rating
- Turbo and variable pitch propeller ratings
- Good stick and rudder piloting skills
- Good practical experience in and knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance
- Have a clear understanding of CARS & CATS Part 44, 43, 91 and 24
- Must have conducted at least 5 initial test flights and concluded rigging and snagging and written a test flight report on all
- Must have conducted maintenance test flights IAW the POH of particular airplane including test flight reports
- Ability to brief and debrief technicians in detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness
- Understanding the setup and fault finding of airplane avionics including understanding of IFR setups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
