Aircraft Parts Buyer

We are recruiting an experienced and qualified Aircraft Parts Buyer for a maintenance organisation based in Centurion. The Aircraft Parts Buyer is responsible for the procurement of aircraft parts and supplies to support the company’s maintenance and operational needs. This role requires effective collaboration with various departments, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase aircraft parts and components from approved vendors and suppliers
• Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure consistent quality and reliability
• Manage the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders, negotiating terms, and tracking order status
• Collaborate with the maintenance and engineering teams to understand parts requirements and forecast future needs
• Analyse market trends and pricing to optimize purchasing strategies and reduce costs
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information in the inventory management system
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company policies in all purchasing activities
• Resolve any discrepancies or issues with deliveries, including damaged or incorrect parts
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and making recommendations for reordering

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a South African citizen/permanent resident preferably residing in or around Centurion
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Proven experience as a buyer, in the aviation or aerospace industry
• Strong understanding of aircraft parts, components, and industry standards
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in procurement software and inventory management systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and compliance issues is a plus
